Tomato Micro-Dwarf Balcony Red — red cherry, balanced
What impresses me about the micro-dwarf Balcony Red is the way it makes its place. It’s small, but surprisingly versatile. Its compact, broad, trailing growth habit makes it interesting in the garden, on a balcony, or in a hanging basket.
When fully ripe, its little red cherry tomatoes have a balanced flavor, with a hint of sweetness and a light acidity that gives it some brightness.
I like tomatoes that don’t require a specific place to be reserved for them: you find yourself wanting to make room for them almost anywhere. In a planter, along the edge of a garden box, in a pot, or hanging, Balcony Red can both produce and add to the garden’s decor.
It adapts well to a 3–4 litre pot, on a balcony, in a planter, hanging basket, garden box, growing tower, or even in the ground. It can be grown outdoors or indoors with supplemental lighting.
And if you get the urge to start seeds, sow them indoors whenever you like. It’s an excellent way to be patient.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that pleases everyone, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen and your habits.
You can share its seeds within your community: our seeds are open-pollinated and reproducible.
