From my very first harvest, I understood why Pomodoro Cuore Antico di Acqui Terme  is so highly appreciated for sauces.

This rare Italian heirloom is rich and aromatic, with noticeable sweetness and gentle acidity. Its dense, low-water flesh contains few seeds. Its very large fruits, weighing 500–900 g, are generally heart-shaped and a beautiful deep red.

Its thin yet resilient skin peels away easily, even when raw. When it’s time to process them, the tomatoes peel and seed effortlessly and don’t require an endless cooking time to become a flavorful sauce.

It is also excellent fresh, in salads or sandwiches. Just remember that you wanted to make sauce before you eat them all!

The plants are vigorous and appreciate rich soil, full sun, and a sturdy support to hold their large fruits.

Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn't the one that pleases everyone, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
