A beautiful pear-shaped tomato with dusky purple skin and a sweet, complex flavor.
What I appreciate about Evan’s Purple Pear is its pleasantly sweet and aromatic flavor, balanced by a delicate acidity. Its soft, creamy flesh gives it a particularly enjoyable texture. In the garden, its fruits also show good resistance to cracking, which is especially welcome when growing conditions are variable.
This variety was developed by Brad Gates from a spontaneous mutation of Pruden’s Purple. It is distinguished by its potato-leaf foliage and indeterminate growth habit.
Its plants produce fruit in approximately 70 to 80 days.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
